JOSIE NUGENT & BRIAN STAFFORD
JOSIE NUGENT originaire du County Clare, a appris son style musical avec Tony Linnane, Francie et Brian Donnellan avec qui elle est aussi parue sur scène. Elle a remporté son premier titre « All-Ireland » lors de son adolescence. Durant son séjour à Cambridge, elle a été active sur la scène de concert avec Sarah Roberts (guitare) et aussi en tant que membre de Phat Phiddles. Les talents de Josie étaient récemment à l'honneur à Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann, Derry / Londonderry 2013 lors de la série de concerts "Gathering of Traditions » et en tant que directeur musical, compositeur et interprète de la cérémonie de clôture "The Bridges of Derry". Après son retour en Irlande, elle a enregistré Hills et Hollows (2010) avec sa sœur Marie à la flûte et « The Caves of Cong » (2014) avec Brian Stafford.

While resident in Cambridge, she was active on the gig scene with Sarah Roberts (guitar) and as a member of Phat Phiddles. Josie’s talents were recently in the spotlight at Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann, Derry / Londonderry 2013 in the “Gathering of Traditions” series of concerts and as musical director, composer and performer in the closing ceremony “The Bridges of Derry”. Since returning to Ireland she has recorded Hills and Hollows (2010) with her sister Mary on flute and The Caves of Cong (2014) with Brian Stafford.
BRIAN STAFFORD est originaire de Derry et a appris à jouer le uilleann fifre de pipier et professeur Finbar McLaughlin, bientôt devenir un champion de la Tout-Irlande au Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann. Ainsi que l'exécution avec des bandes traditionnelles irlandaises, il a travaillé dans d'autres genres, après avoir été un membre à long terme de la séminal Gallois bande de langue Yr Hwntws et avec le new-yorkais Arts Barge Ensemble. Brian war kürzlich als Uilleann Pipe Solist mit dem Geneva International Christian Choir & Orchestra auf Tour.
BRIAN STAFFORD is a native of Derry, having learned uilleann pipes from pipemaker and teacher Finbar McLaughlin, soon becoming an All-Ireland Champion at the Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann. As well as performing with traditional Irish bands he has worked in other genres, having been a long term member of the seminal Welsh language band Yr Hwntws and with the York-based Arts Barge Ensemble. Since returning to Ireland, Brian has led cross-community workshops and performed in Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann, Derry / Londonderry 2013 and City of Culture events, notably as soloist in the BBC UK City of Culture theme. Brian has recently toured in Switzerland and Romania as an uilleann pipes soloist with the Geneva International Christian Choir & Orchestra.
