MIKE KATZ
MIKE KATZ - Excellent instrumentiste, le joueur de cornemuse Mike Katz rejoint la formation Battlefield Band en 1997 et a largement contribué à rendre leur musique populaire.
Originaire de Los Angeles, ce multi-instrumentiste apprend très tôt à jouer de la cornemuse au sein du même pipe band qu’Eric Rigler, un ancien membre du groupe. Il s’installe en Ecosse à l’âge de 18 ans et étudie à l’Université d’Edimbourg. Il y vit toujours et s’est dans diverses formations avant de rejoindre Battlefield Band et d’acquérir une réputation méritée d’excellent musicien et compositeur.
MIKE KATZ ist ein grossartiger Musiker, er stiess 1997 zur Battlefield Band. Ein wunderbarer "Piper", wie aus einer früheren Zeit, als Multi-Instrumentalist schöpft er aus vielen Quellen. Aus LA stammend wo er das Dudelsack spielen erlernte, zog er im Alter von 18 Jahre weiter nach Schottland, wo er in Edinbourgh studierte. Hier spielte er in verschiedenen Bands, unter anderem in der Scottish Gas Pipe Band & Ceolbeg, bevor er der Battlefield Band 1997 beitrat.
MIKE KATZ A superb and versatile musician, bagpiper Mike Katz joined the Battlefield Band line-up in late 1997and has contributed massively to the music and accessibility of the band. A fine piper from an early age, a multi-instrumentalist, and a 'musician's musician' with eclectic influences, Mike comes originally from LA - where he learned and played in the same pipe band as another band alumni; Eric Rigler. Initially moving to Scotland aged 18 to study at Edinburgh University, Mike put down roots and has lived here ever since, playing in various bands - including the Scottish Gas Pipe Band & Ceolbeg before joining Battlefield Band in 1997 - and in the process earned himself a deserved reputation as a truly excellent musician and tunesmith.
