SÄMI MOOR est né et vit dans la vieille ville celte de Bâle. C'est pourquoi la musique celte ne l'a jamais quitté après en avoir entendu les premières notes à l'âge de 4 ans lors d'un concert où Skip était déjà présent. Il ne peut plus se passer de sa guitare depuis ses 14 ans. Aujourd'hui Sämi est un guitariste d'expérience, chanteur, parolier et compositeur pour qui la scène est sa maison. Il est guitariste principal du groupe Bâlois « Dieffliger » et l'arme secrète des Pipes and Drums of Basel. Il est souvent convié comme invité surprise pour des projets d'enregistrement et d'évènementiels. Il a largement participé avec les membres du groupe Battlefieldband, ainsi qu'avec The City of Basel Caledonia Pipeband, Howe Gelb, à des comédies musicales et au Yyshalle-Tattoo, précurseur du Basel Tattoo. Il a été le fondateur et le leader des Shipwrecked Chanteymen et des Swiss Mariners Chanteymen. Son dernier projet en date est le Duo avec Skip Healy, le guitariste irlandais qui l'inspira il y a plus de 30 ans, que vous aurez le plaisir d'entendre et voir à Avenches.
SÄMI MOOR stammt aus und lebt in der alten Keltenstadt Basel. Deshalb hat ihn die Keltische Volksmusik, seit er sie im Alter von rund vier Jahren (an einem Konzert, an dem auch Skip Healy beteiligt war) zum ersten mal gehört hat, auch nie wieder wirklich losgelassen. Seit er mit 14 Jahren mit dem Gitarrespielen angefangen hat, hat auch diese ihn fest im Griff. Heute ist Sämi ein erfahrener Gitarrist, Sänger, Songschreiber und Arrangeur der sich auf jeder Bühne wohl fühlt. Er ist Gitarrist der Basler Band „Diefflieger“, musikalische Geheimwaffe der Pipes and Drums of Basel und gefragter Gastmusiker für jegliche Art von Studio- und Bühnenprojekte. Dabei spielte er schon mit Mitgliedern der Battlefieldband, der City of Basel Caledonia Pipeband, Howe Gelb, in Musicalproduktionen und am Yyshalletattoo, Vorläufer des Basel Tattoo. Ebenso gründete und leitete er die Shipwrecked Chanteymen und die Swiss Mariners Chanteymen. Nun ist sein neustes Projekt das Duo, das sie in Avenches sehen und hören können, mit Skip Healy, dem Mann, von dem er vor über 30 Jahren zum ersten diese Musik gehört hat. Viel Vergnügen!
SÄMI MOOR was born and lives in the ancient celtic City of Basel. This is probably the reason why celtic folkmusic never released him from its grip ever since he first heard it at the age of four (at a concert in which Skip was involved too) Since he first picked up a guitar at 14 years of age he never managed to put it down again for more than a day at a time. Today Sämi is an experienced guitarist, singer, songwriter and arranger who feels at home on any stage. He is the leadguitarist of the Basel Band “Diefflieger” musical secret weapon of the Pipes and Drums of Basel and sought after guest musician for any kind of recording and stage projects. He has performed with members of the Battlefieldband, the City of Basel Caledonia Pipeband, Howe Gelb, at Musicalproductions and the Yyshalle-Tattoo, the predecessor of the Basel Tattoo. He also founded and lead the Shipwrecked Chanteymen and the Swiss Mariners Chanteymen. His latest project is the Duo that you will see and hear in Avenches, along with Skip Healy, the man he first heard Irish folk music from, more than 30 years ago.
